Maize Mirchi
Maize Mirchi is the University of Michiganʻs South Asian inspired a cappella group, founded in 2007 by Suresh Mohand and Arvind Narayanan. The organization sings a blend of Indian, Western, and fusion music. In the a cappella tradition, all music is made without instruments, and all of our unique arrangements are by students. Members include undergraduate and graduate students with experience ranging from Indian classical and Western choral training to those with no formal training. It is a tight group of friends who love music.
Maize Mirchi holds auditions for new members at the start of each Fall. In addition to an annual concert, Maize Mirchi appears in other shows and competitions throughout the school year.
