Đêm Việt Nam 2009 - Two World's Collide

Truyền Thống Cũ Và Mới

Location: Mendelssohn Theater

Charity: Dieu Giac Temple Orphanage

“Two Worlds Collide” describes the melding of the two cultures, our root Vietnamese culture and our acquired American culture, that make up the identity of being “Vietnamese-American.” We are raised in an environment that is heavily influenced both by our parents Vietnamese origins at home and the diverse American culture that we pick up from living in the States. This makes us a distinctly unique generation of Vietnamese people that have adapted to both the cultures that identify us, especially since we Vietnamese-Americans are the sons and daughters of Vietnamese people that fled to America to start a new life overseas. Because of this, we represent the future of both our Vietnamese and our American heritage and through our dreams and aspirations we will carry on this special “Vietnamese-American” heritage.
